Announcing the Publication of: "How Persons with Deafblindness Experience Art and Music Through Touch – New Honorary Doctor".
An article written by Gøran Andreas Gregor Caspian Forsgren, Senior Advisor for the Nordic Welfare Centre, has been published on 20th June 2024.
In the article, Gøran talks of Russ' past and his 30+ years of research into how those with sensory loss experience art and music.
He also speaks of Russ' latest achievement: his honorary doctorate from the University of Oulu, Finland. Dr Marjatta Takala, professor of special education, who promoted Russ to the honorary doctorate, said:
This honorary title is given on Russ’ own achievements. The way you have been traveling around the world, giving of yourself, and sharing your knowledge, is your badge of honour! You have made your deafblindness into your superpower.
